Whether taking a walk or just relaxing outside one of the neighborhood coffee shops, Richard and Governor could be spotted every day in the vicinity of Broadway and Belmont - Richard with his trademark hats, Governor sporting the distinctive Cubs visor that made her a local celebrity. Richard Cooke, a longtime Chicago resident and familiar East Lakeview presence along with his dachshund Governor, died in the early morning hours of Saturday, December 12, after suffering a heart attack earlier in the week.
